What Is the AFRA and What Do They Do?
The Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA) is a professional organization of the best in the removal business. This body takes its job very seriously and carefully reviews every application they get from removal companies.
The organization investigates and accredits members based on how they run their business. And it’s not a one and done thing. Member companies must undergo regular audits so AFRA can ensure the best customer experience.
Protecting the Consumer
In order to join, a removal company must be in compliance with the AFRA’s long list of requirements. Most of these requirements are in place to protect the consumer from poor or outright dishonest business practices.
For example, member companies are required to have insurance, keep their vehicles and equipment in good working order, and properly train all employees. These and other policies make it far less likely for things to go wrong during your move.
AFRA even requires that member companies use the organization’s paperwork for job quotes, contracts, and the like. If the company chooses to use their own templates, they must be approved by AFRA.

The removal company has already agreed to whatever AFRA decides. However, you can still take action through Fair Trading if you are not satisfied with the result.
